7th grade Social Studies
What is your background and education?
I was born and raised in Boston, MA, attending public school for middle and high school. I went to college at Northwestern University outside of the city of Chicago for a degree in American Studies, then came to NYC to complete my social studies certification at Teachers College.
How long have you been teaching?
I have been teaching middle school social studies since 2019, first in East Harlem, then for two years in Portland, Oregon and now at M.S. 915.
What is your favorite part of teaching?
My favorite part about teaching is the energy and creativity young people bring to the classroom every day. I like being on my feet, interacting with people, and asking questions so that students can grow as learners and critical thinkers.
What do you like to do outside of school?
Outside of school I spend time with my wife (and our dog), friends and family. I like to cook (and eat), be in nature, do crossword puzzles, and watch ridiculous reality TV shows.
