After School Clubs & Student Support Groups

MS915 logo plus CCM logo equals great after school

CCM-FYI offers and oversees broad after-school programming at MS 915 at no cost, thanks to grant funding from NYC’s Department of Youth and Community Development, the CASA program/NYC Council Member Steve Levin, and the DOE Office of School Wellness.

Online registration for the Winter Session of After School Enrichment clubs is now open. Questions? Email afterschool@ms915brooklyn.org. Thanks!

Below are descriptions of the Winter Session Enrichment clubs, student support groups/alliances and their days. There are two ways to register:

  • parents/guardians may register their students for preferred clubs at the link below, OR
  • students already attending CCM after school programming will have the opportunity to fill preferences online in the next week.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that students will be assigned to all their choices; we need to see enrollment numbers before confirming assignments. We will spend the next couple weeks sorting through registrations and will confirm clubs before the winter break.

NOTES:

  • If you have not already filled out CCM’s registration form for Fall Session, you must do so for your child to participate in Winter Session activities. A link to the form is HERE. (If you filled out the form for Fall Session, you do not need to fill it out again.)
  • On-time registration for enrichment clubs will end on Friday, December 13.
  • The Winter 2019 Session of MS 915 teacher-led enrichment clubs will begin when we return to school after the winter break and end when we start spring break in early April.
  • If your child is on one of the MS 915 basketball teams, please check with their coach about practice schedules before registering.
  • Auditions for the spring musical, Shrek, Jr., will be held on December 17, with callbacks (and additional auditions for those who cannot make December 17) on December 18. Get details and sign up to audition HERE. Please register for Spring Musical club on the online form if you plan to audition for the club.

Brooklyn Public Players

Facilitator: Brooklyn Music School
Time: 3-4:45pm

Wind ensembles can cover a wide range of repertoire, from classical to jazz to pop. In this band club, students practice reading music and play together as part of an ensemble, developing familiarity with repertoire, improvisation, and teamwork. NOTES:

  • Students who join the Brooklyn Public Players who do not own their own instruments (or rent them as part of in-school residencies) will need to rent them.

EPIC is a Manhattan-based theatre company committed to producing off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway work in historic theatres throughout the city to pioneer inclusion arts. Our actors can be seen in the feature film Good Time with Robert Pattinson and Keep the Change, winner of best narrative film at TriBeCa Film Festival. Come and join us for an EPIC time!
