Cara Spitzer

Cara Spitzer recently completed an MA from Brooklyn College in K-12 School Counseling, including internships at PS 110 in Greenpoint and MESA Charter High School in Bushwick where she provided guidance lessons and counseling for individuals and groups. She has over 15 years experience in youth development and education and has led initiatives for staff and students in health and wellness, restorative justice and community service. Ms. Spitzer began her career as a paraprofessional in District 75 and has held various positions at nonprofit organizations including Ramapo for Children, Publicolor, the NYC Leadership Academy, and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center. Ms. Spitzer also holds an MA in Public Administration from Baruch College and a BA in Communication and Media from SUNY New Paltz.

Ms. Spitzer grew up in Queens and Long Island. She currently lives in Queens with her husband and two children. She is extremely excited to be the guidance counselor at MS 915 because she loves learning from the perspectives and insights of young people and she’s passionate about guiding and supporting students and families through their educational journey.
